In a video released Tuesday, US President Barack Obama extended his personal greetings to the Jewish people in honor of Rosh Hashanah. Obama began in Hebrew, saying L'Shana Tova Tikatevu (May you be inscribed and sealed in the Book of Life). "Rosh Hashanah marks the beginning of the Jewish spiritual calendar and the birth of the world," said Obama. "It serves as a reminder of the special relationship between God and his children." Obama said that this time of year is a time for personal reflection, repentance, prayer, and remembering the blessings that come from helping those in need.

It's not the output. It's the people. Our output could be the sky's the limit; but if large segments of the population are idle or do not feel as if they are contributing, it will change the nature of our population, the way we think and how we engage the world.I would worry less about not having enough steel than I would about not having enough steel-workers, if you get my drift. I rather like people who can do things, being as my family includes railroad car-greaser, steelworkers, canal boater, stone masons, bricklayer, blacksmith, cooks, master printers, and the like....

The young interracial couple moved into the garden apartments near my house, and, before long, neighbors were complaining about the noisy stereo blasting, the wild pot parties, and the gangster-type visitors to the complex. Women expressed concern for the couple's young infant being exposed to the pot smoke and pondered calling Social Services to report them. Others warned against this, afraid of retribution by the couple's scary looking friends who were overheard planning a robbery with a handgun. Homeowners worried about their property values further declining and blamed the landlord of the complex for accepting Section 8 renters. The landlord...

Yep, its golf. Motorcade rolled from White House at 12:31 pm and headed to Fort Belvoir. Unfortunately press van number two was moved to the secondary motorcade for some unknown reason before we left, and so your pooler and the rest of his colleagues, along with the only White House press staffer in the motorcade, were separated from POTUS and the primary motorcade a block outside the gates, at 15th and Constitution.

Daphne Batts sometimes wonders if practical jokers with hidden cameras are spying on her as she interviews people for jobs at Bankrate Inc., an online publisher of financial information in North Palm Beach, Fla. That's because job candidates—including experienced professionals—behave so inappropriately that Ms. Batts, vice president of human resources, suspects she's the target of a prank. "I find myself peering out my blinds to see if Ashton Kutcher is on my office balcony with a camera crew," she says, referring to the host of the former MTV show "Punk'd," which featured pranks being played on celebrities. Of course, there's...

Another Obama jobs-building measure….he shows up and the jobsite shuts down! You read that correctly. President Obama, during a planned visit to Columbus, Ohio, is forcing the workers on the Children’s Hospital project to stop work and shut down the job site. I’m sure it’s for security reasons, however, our President should have picked a better location for his photo-op.

California's white population has declined since 2000 at an unprecedented rate, hastening the day when Hispanics will be the state's largest population group, according to newly released state figures. There were half a million fewer whites in California in 2008 than in 2000, a period when the state's overall population grew by 4 million to 38.1 million, according to a study released Thursday by the state Department of Finance. By 2008, whites made up 40 percent of Californians, down from 47 percent at the turn of the century. In 2000, Hispanics comprised 32 percent of the population; that number grew...
